Just when you thought a picture displayed online couldn’t get any more perfect, the universe does it again and introduces photography technology that can show more defined color, textural details, and overall sharpness. You’ve heard that a “picture is worth a thousand words”, but it could also be worth a thousand dollars if it gets you the sale!
To enhance the product presentation in our catalogs, MicroD has upgraded our in-house photography studio to snap photos of manufacturer fabrics, finishes, and frames at 2K resolution! Yeah for 2K, but do you really know what it means?
Here’s where it gets tricky, 2K images are not simply double the resolution of 1K, they are actually four times the resolution. Why? Well, 1,024 multiplied by 768 = 786,432 total pixels in the image. Where as 2,048 multiplied by 1,536 is 3,145,728 total pixels in the image! That is roughly 4.1 times the amount of pixels and is the reason images are so impressive looking!
