Introductory Training (12 hours)

Geared toward students who have little to no experience with AGi32. Topics covered in the AGi32 Introductory 2-day course include a variety of interior and exterior applications. Daylighting and street lighting are not covered (See Roadway course). Available online and in classroom.

Advanced Training (12 hours)

For those who are well versed in the AGi32 basic concepts and have a good understanding of lighting fundamentals and luminaire photometry. Students should be comfortable with AGi32’s workflow and have experience using AGi32 in a professional role. Available online and in classroom.

Intermediate Roadway (12 hours)

This class is for those who have at least a basic familiarity with AGi32 and want to learn how to use it for roadway lighting applications. This class will cover the use of AGi32 for street lighting within the context of IES RP-8 and beyond. Illuminance, luminance and veiling luminance calculations are covered. Available online and in classroom.

Introductory Training Relaxed Pace (16 hours)

The same AGi32 Introductory course material but with a slower paced schedule. Perfect for those who are new to the lighting industry, lighting software, or simply wish to take their time through class. Instruction is available online only.

Introduction to Revit and ElumTools for Lighting Designers (4 HOURS)

Lighting Analysts, now a part of Revalize, will be hosting noted Revit author and blogger, Mr. Dan Stine in this introductory session for new ElumTools users. Dan will lead attendees through the basic interface and workflow of Revit and ElumTools, providing a solid foundation for lighting designers to use the latest versions of these valuable tools.

Revit Content Creation for Lighting Designers (4 Hours)

To ensure users are taking advantage of all the amazing tools the ElumTools application offers, renowned Revit author and blogger, Dan Stine, hosts a NEW Revit Content Creation training course. Though the emphasis of this session would be on creating good lighting fixture content in Revit, the results will be reviewed in ElumTools. Items will be reviewed in a simple, provided model.
This session is geared toward ElumTools users with intermediate Revit experience and little to no experience creating Revit content.

Basic ElumTools for Interior and Exterior Lighting (4 HOURS)

Lighting Analysts, now a part of Revalize, will be hosting noted Revit author and blogger, Mr. Dan Stine in this session to equip lighting designers with skills to use ElumTools for interior and exterior applications. Dan will lead attendees through the key features, steps, and best practices for each of these environments.

Self-Paced Courses

Interface Course: Model Mode

The Model Mode screen is the foundation of AGi32. It is where all of your model building, importing, luminaire placement, calculation point placement and general project organization take place. Whenever you are building or modifying your project, it takes place in Model Mode. The Toolkits on the right side of the screen (by default) house all of the entity-specific commands such as room and object creation, luminaire definition and placement, and the various methods to add calculation points to your model.

Interface Course: Render Mode

AGi32’s Render Mode is a single click away from the Model Mode using the Mode Tabs at the top of the screen. Render mode is an interactive visualization of your model when calculated using the Full Radiosity Method (Calculate Menu). Your model must have at least one surface (Object or Room) defined in order to render. There are a variety of ways to display your renderings and any view can be saved as a Viewpoint for presentation purposes in the Reports mode.

Site Lighting Course

The Site Lighting application covers many of the steps you will encounter in any basic site lighting analysis as well as a few you may not require regularly. It is intended to prepare new users to confidently compose a site lighting proposal using AGi32.

Street Lighting Course

The Street Lighting course uses the IES pavement Luminance design method to develop pole spacing and layout constraints. The accepted solution is then transferred to a project specific plan to analyze how real world constraints have an impact on the design calculations.

Basic Interior Lighting Course

The Basic Interior Lighting Course begins with a simple zonal cavity estimate for small warehouse space. Those results are exported into AGi32’s Model area where several common skills are employed and different calculation approaches examined. The example extends into rendering and project preparation for automated output.

Intermediate Interior Lighting Course

The Intermediate Interior Lighting Course begins with a 2D-CAD import of a multi-suite office, a typical design scenario. The various spaces are created with calculation points and power density. Colors and textures are applied, and various techniques are used to insert luminaires. Rendering is explored with common practices for improving your visualizations exposed.
